We stopped for hotdogs before the show and Gracie rode
up and down the concession area on her "Nana's horsie"
(my cane).
Friday March 10,  2006, Daddy and Momma get Gracie dressed in
her best cowgirl denims before we head out to go to the Michigan
High School Rodeo Association rodeo at the horse pavilion at MSU.
Gracie was excited to go see the HORSIES!!!
The rodeo was part of the Michigan Horse Council's
Stallion Expo.  There were all kinds of wonderful stallion
horses on display, as well as burros, draft horses,
miniature horses and these Appaloosa and Painted
Horses.  There were breeds of which I had never even
heard!  And of course, SHOPPING!
Gracie loved petting all
the soft horse noses and
seeing all their pretty
colors, but she didn't love
it all as much as her horse
crazy Nana did!!
After looking at all the horses Gracie and I found seats in the Arena for the Rodeo
(while Genna and Chad slipped off for a quiet dinner together in town).
Gracie loved seeing the rodeo Queens in their sequins
and tiaras as they opened the show.  Then she sat
transfixed through the bareback broncos, the bull
riders,
the goat roping and
the team steer roping.
 We probably could
have stayed all night
watching, but we
finally HAD to call it a
night and go home to
bed!
...
Saturday Morning we get up early and go outside into the beautiful warm spring day.  Gracie checks out
Dad's tulip bulb sprouts and some tiny Spring flowers.  Then we all go shopping.   Momma buys Gracie
some surprises at the same time she buys presents for Gracie's friend Maddie's second birthday.
WOW!!  A sparkly sequin dress, feather boa, clicky shoes and a pink poodle purse and Grace goes
from being a horsey cowgirl (yee HAW) to being a slinky movie star (va va VOOM)!  She even
needs her own personal  wardrobe mistress to fix those pesky falling down shoulder straps (no
wardrobe malfunctions for THIS celebrity!)  Where are my shades, Dahling?
